Departure and Arrival

Jake:

After nearly 25 hours of traveling, we made it, and I must say, Sansepolcro is just gorgeous. From a taxi-van to a plane to another plane to a bus to the palazzo, it has been one heck of a journey. Highlights (for me at least) include:

- A customisable playlist of songs to listen to on the overseas flight

- A chocolate hazelnut bar filled with gooey chocolate on the bus

- A glass elevator for luggage (with a view all the way down)

- A fully prepared meal left for us by the cook (who we still have not seen yet)

- A store complete with cereal (which I was greatly looking forward to) and cheap wine (which made for a great photo op, along with the Italian writing on the wall)

- A cute little coffee shop to nearly fall asleep at

- And overall, just a really nice first day. Although, yes, we don't yet have any pictures of a "Sansepolcro" sign, they will come. For now, be content with Rome. :)

Sorry the rest of the fam didn't post, they're all so wiped out from the long day. I think I'm the only one who got much of any sleep on the plane or bus. For tomorrow!

Predeparture

It has been a whirlwind of activity since we decided to embark on this crazy journey. Among the items on our collective plates as we get ready to go:

1. Oversee construction on our new house
This includes picking everything out and near daily visits to inspect for errors, omissions, and damage

Prep our Creek Park house for house sitting and sale
2. This includes packing up almost everything, interior and exterior painting, plumbing, wall paper removal, light fixture replacement, debrassing of all doorknobs, strike plates, hinges, carpet replacement, shopping for staging equipment, meeting with various contractors for some jobs, removal of furniture for carpet installation, minor carpentry, deck powerwashing and staining, etc.
